The Young Inglewood 2013 Cabernet Franc is the second release of a 100% varietal Franc from our estate vineyard. Smooth and balanced, the wine offers with black cherries and berries complemented by creamy chocolate and hints of wild herb and spice. A lingering finish rounds out the wine and provides the final reward.
Our Cabernet Franc was hand harvested at night to take advantage of cooler temperatures. The clusters were destemmed and berries sorted before being gently crushed. The wine was open-top fermented on its skins, with 2-3 punchdowns daily for extraction, before it was pressed to barrel. Before bottling, the 2013 Cab Franc spent 21 months in neutral French oak, with only one racking.
