Soul satisfying and voluptuous, the Young Inglewood 2013 Petit Verdot delivers satisfaction on all levels. The nose offers aromas of roasted meat, tar and molasses. Smooth and rich, the palate beguiles the drinker with sweet purple fruit, bacon, toffee and a long spicy finish.Our Estate Petit Verdot was hand harvested at night to take advantage of cooler temperatures. Hand sorted, destemmed and gently crushed berries were ambient soaked and slowly open-top co-fermented with a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon to add structure. As with all Young Inglewood red wines, fermentation was carried out by naturally occurring yeasts, native to our winery. After a gentle pressing, the wine spent 20 months in new and neutral French oak barrels.
